We also purchase cars and trucks from the private sector. I much prefer buying a vehicle directly from the person who has been driving the car. They can tell me directly of the accesories and new parts they have installed. How they pampered their favorite toy, or what the vehicle needs to be tip top shape.  As opposed to an auction where you have to take your chances if your buying another dealers problem.
